ABOUT US

Syls Cycling Club was formed in late 2018 by a number of members of the St Sylvesters GAA Club that cycled together. The club's inaugural ride took place on Sunday, February 17th 2019, and in recognition of the historical affiliation of St. Sylvester to the town of Malahide, the name Syls was chosen for the newly formed cycling club.

Since then, through affiliation with Cycling Ireland, our club has continued to grow with a great gender balance among members. We aim to become the best social cycling club in north Dublin, and welcome cycling enthusiasts of all levels and abilities.

Every month, potential and new members to the club who do not have a record of their rides (E.g. via Strava or equivalent app) will be brought on a 30Km spin by an experienced club member to help establish their ability level and to suggest which group would be most suitable for them as the join the club.

For cyclists that are just getting started, we run a yearly Couch to 50k training programme, while for more experienced cyclists who are looking to take cycling to the next level, we offer the 100k in a Day Programme. We also provide training for participation in cycling events such as Ride Dingle, Ring of Beara, Great Dublin Bike Ride, Wicklow 200, Ring of Kerry and others.

Our club spins are a mix of guided and non-guided no-drop spins, that are designed to accommodate different distances and group average speeds with a great blend of coastal, country and cityscape routes Dublin's northsidenorth side has to offer. Our official club spins take place on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, visit our about page for a breakdown of distance and average speed per group.

For more details regarding membership benefits, visit our Membership page, or contact us via contact@sylscc.ie.
We would love you to join us.
